Things I Learned in 2012
I have been thinking about writing a post of some of the things I learned this year.
2012 you have been such an up and down year for me. Some are serious and some are funny. :)
1. The world didn't end on Dec. 21st 2012. My 14 year old self is now rejoicing.
2. Crying is good for the soul.
3. Blogging your feelings helps tremendously.
4. The Fault in Our Stars is John Green's best book to date.
5. Never stay with someone who makes you unhappy. ( MAG)
6. Getting courage was one of the best thing I have done this year.
7. Having someone who pursues you is worth it.
8. Someone who likes you even your flaws and doesn't want to change them is awesome!!
9. Being best friends and being each other significant other is key.
10. Be with someone that friends and family love.
11. Learning that your past relationship was a toxic, depressing, etc. relationship and not what relationships are about.
12. Having blog friends is amazing. Even tho I wish they lived closer.
13. Hot bubble baths are amazing.
14. Having JBK in my life makes me so blessed. Distance really makes the heart grow fonder.
15. Knowing your significant other's love language. :) Quality Time. And mine is a tie for that and physical touch.
There's so much I learned this year. Here's to next year. 2013 I am ready for you!! :)

Hi My Name is Kaitlyn and I'm a Literary Junkie
I found this link up through my one best blog friends Miss Abbey . I am on the road to visit to my grandfather, aunt, uncle, and cousins down in Fairhope. So I would grab the button. Haha. ;)
Now on to the questions.
1. Well I just now started this jem. After so many people recommending I finally got it in a book swap. ;).
The Book Thief
2. I would probably say either John Green or Karen Kingsbury. Two polar opposite book authors I know. Haha those 2 are possibly my favorite authors.
3. I would say my couch or my bed. I love reading before bed and into the night.
4. That's a hard one for me. Haha so lets see.
The Fault in Our Stars is my favorite absolutely favorite YA book right now. Omg. If you want romance, sadness, adventure, humor. This is the book for you. I finished it in a day and half after I got it and signed by John Green himself. :)
The Garden of Good and Evil is a good mystery. It is on my reread list. :)
13 Reasons Why was the first audiobook I listened too. Amazing!!
The next few are my favorite classics. It also doesn't help these 2 lived or had lived in alabama. :) To Kill a Mockingbird shout out she went to my college for a bit and The Great Gatsby F. Scott's Montgomery home is like 5 min down the road too.
Then you can't go wrong with Mr. Darcy.
The Harry Potter and Traveling Pants are my favorite series. :) they defined my childhood. :)

Home for the Holidays
I'm sorry I have only posted once. I just got home for Christmas Break and my mom has already put me to work. I have seen JBK already once. Hopefully will see him more next week.
So home for the Holidays. My family goes all out for Christmas I wish I could show you everything we do.
I will tell you about most of it and a few pics. Lets see we have a ton of trees. All of them are fake due to everyone but mine allergies. We have 4. We used to have a kids' tree that had old toys from happy meals,etc. we have wreaths on every door and window.
Most of you don't know but my family has a farm. We have ducks, chickens, goats,
And our farm has a star on it with lights.
We also have every picture for our christmas cards/ Santa pics.
Christmas Eve we have a few traditions.
One is we always see Santa. We are then given money to spend on anything. I usually get books.
Two we fondue. :).
Three We were always given PJs from our dad's godmother basically his mom. I always called her my great godmother. she was pretty cool. she went to my college back in the 1930s. She knew Harper Lee. Need I say more?? She passed away 3 years ago.

Holidays
I'm linking up with Katie for There's No Place Like the Holidays
I come from a little town called Indian Springs, Alabama. Which is in the middle of Hoover and Pelham.
I have lived here with my family for 17 years now.
I come from 2 crazy, loving parents who have been married for 28 years!!
I have 2 crazy younger sisters who always dance and sing at the top of their lungs. And who look nothing like me.
I went to a high school with the generic colors red, white, and blue. You can guess what our mascot was? I graduated with 417 people and maybe 3 people i regularly talk to from my graduating class. Where it was weird if you did not go to alabama or auburn for college. Which I did not go to.
I know go to a school where most people know your name even the President of the school.
I have now found a man who I have talked to 3 months and dating for a month who treats me like a princess. who makes me laugh, makes me a better person, who is my best friend . AND Who I get to see tomorrow!!! :)
I come from being depressed this time last year to slowly being my happy self I was when I was 15. That's the last time I remember being truly content and happy with myself.

Honesty Time
Disclaimer: I am about to put my heart out there. Please be considerate.
A year ago today I was in a dark place in my life. My life was wrapped around one person not God. It was all about MAG. To me the world revolved us. It was about him all the time. If he was happy I was happy. If he was upset I was too. I let him control me, my emotions, everything. It was all about him. I put everything into our relationship not wanting anything back in return. When he said come over I would. Even if meant canceling plans with friends. He would withhold hugs, kisses, hand holding, etc if I did something wrong in his eyes. All my friends could see he was no good but I was too blinded by having my first ever boyfriend who "loved" me. He would affect so many things my family life, my friendships, my relationship with God, my school work, etc.
Then a year ago today I almost made one of the biggest mistakes of my life. Here we go ( honesty time) I almost had sex with him. We were this close to having it and thankfully I stopped it. I am so glad I did. However that didn't stop us for doing other things.
3 almost 4 months later MAG broke up with me. I was an emotional wreck for the next 3 months. I was on and off crying. I was not wanting to go to school. I was depressed. I wanted to die.
However I was getting back to who I am as a person. I was laughing again, smiling, I had friends again, etc. I was blogging again. My relationship with God was great and still is. Finally getting closure. Finding out your ex didn't really "love" you kind of does that to you.
So in July I did something completely not like me. I joined a dating site.
So in August I had my first dates. I only had 3. One was interesting, one was awkward, and one was no words to describe it.
However there was always this one guy. He introduced himself and asked who I was then had 3 questions for me to answer. So me being the nice person I answered. I had other guys I was talking to at the time but there was always him with his questions. He didn't care that I didn't ask anything back. He was always there pursuing me. So after 3 failed first dates and another guy using somehow. I started to pray about the annoying guy. Because he had asked to Skype me or text me and I always said no. He was like ok and then went on asking me questions. So God was like give him a chance. At first I was hesitate because he looked like MAG. Then God was like he's not my daughter. So after a month of messaging I finally gave the go ahead. Yes we can Skype and I am so glad I did.
Yes guys this is JBK. Haha.
I am now in relationship that is about being best friends and boyfriend/girlfriend. I am now in a relationship where I laugh all the time. I am now in a relationship where people say I "glow" when I talk about us.
I am now in a relationship where it doesn't revolve around one person it is about us. I am now in relationship when he will pick up the phone and call me when I need him even if it is 1 AM. I am in a relationship where there is no withholding of anything.
I am so thankful and so blessed to have this man in my life. He is my knight in shining armor and I call him that. And he calls me his princess. :) I can't wait to see where this goes. :) I am def starting to fall for him.

Last Thankful Thursday
November has flown by. I can't believe tomorrow is my last day of fall classes as an undergrad. When did that happen!?

Pumpkin waffles and cupcakes
Nov.30th is tomorrow so I can talk to JBK instead of here and there texts and facebook messages

Many Thanks...
I have so much to be thankful for this year.
1. My amazing God if it were not for him I would have none of these things.
2. My crazy family. Even though we have ups and downs we still have each other.
3. My extended family. I got to spend time with my amazing grandfather!!
I also got to me my first cousins and their kids.
4. My friends at HC and the ones I have been friends before.
5. My blog friends I have met. Y'all are are so sweet and so encouraging.
Sar, Abbie, so much more.
6. My sweet JBK. I never thought 8 months ago I would have someone who cares about me again. He has showed me how a relationship is supposed to be. He treats me so much better then MAG.

Thankfulness Thursday

1. I'm thankful for one of my best friends Rachel. We got to talk this morning. It had been 2 weeks since I had. Her momma is getting married this weekend! :) congrats Momma Swain!! I can't call her that anymore. :( Haha. I just call her by her first name anyway.
2. Wednesday night dinner was amazing last night. Thanksgiving Dinner. Turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, etc.
3. Thanksgiving Break is almost here!!
That means I'm going down to Mobile and see my grandfather!! :) oh my goodness I'm so happy about that!!
Even though I will be working on papers and projects.
4. Also if you follow on me twitter.

having a daily countdown until I see JBK!! 9 days!!!
Poor baby is sick right now because he is working himself to being sick. :(.
Why does he have to be 3 plus hours away. :(.

Weekend Update
Friday- I stayed in and tried to write my report that I have to do this Friday. But alas The Princess Diaries 1 and 2 were on ABC family.
Saturday- Me and Alyce went to our last tailgate as students. We then went to Birmingham to go see A Fine Frenzy and Joshua Radin!!! It was so amazing!! 2 of my favorite artists in one venue. There opening act was spectacular as well Madi Diaz. And we got there early so we were right near the stage. Here are pics from my phone will update tomorrow with ones I took on my amazing camera!!
We also had some amazing sushi.
Sunday- We went to PF Changs. Got some free lettuce wraps because we downloaded the app. :) and some hot tea and crab fried rice. Yummy.
Then cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory. I got cookie dough. It was amazing.
I also got to talk to JBK for a little bit which was great!! 12 more days!!!! Omg I can't wait!! Haha.

Thankful Thursday
1. I'm so thankful for my sweet babies that I watch on Wed. night at church. How can you not love these cute baby faces.
2. I'm so thankful for colder weather. I love hats, scarfs, etc.
3. I'm thankful for my sweet puppy that I got to cuddle with on last Friday thru Monday of this past week.
4. I'm so thankful for JBK still. I can't wait for 16 days until I see him again!!
Especially since he got to know Clingy Kaitlyn this previous weekend. MAG hated and I mean hated her. Haha.
JBK understood and cared about me. He was like it's ok. Which was great.

My Weekend...
My Weekend consisted of 4 main things.
1. Sinus Headache all weekend long. It was horrible because I had the house to myself while the family was in AU.
2. Even though I had a sinus headache I got to cuddle and sleep with this pretty lady. Miss Sadie Belle.
3. I also got to catch up on my YA class reading which made me have Harry Potter related dreams since we are reading this. Haha
4. I didn't get to talk to JBK much which led him getting to know one bad trait I have. I am clingy.
However now for some awesome sauce news!! Hahaha.
Congrats to my best guy friend JME or he has been mentioned on here Josiah which yes is his real name!!
He got a new job offer today!!!! Yeah!!! Happy dance!!

Thankful Thursday
1. I'm so thankful for JBK. I never thought 7 months ago that I would be in a relationship after what MAG put me through. I'm so thankful for JBK for showing me what a true relationship is.
2. My blogging friends. The community of have on here is so uplifting and I'm so glad I have y'all. Like Sar, Abbey, Katie, Nicole. Etc. if I forgot you I'm sorry. Haha
3. My real life friends. They have been so supportive of me and what I have been through and I can't be more then thankful for them.
4. Last but not least God. God has has been there through and thick with me these past 7 months. From my down depressed self to my high on life self. I would not be here today if it weren't for him.

This Weekend :)
This weekend was great once again. :).
Friday Night
My school had it's annual Semi Formal. It was in it's 3rd year and my first time going.
I loved it. :).
Saturday my sweet JBK came to my school to meet my friends then we went down to Auburn to tailgate with my family. And so JBK could ask my daddy an important question. No not that one....
He asked my daddy. Can I please date your daughter!? And of course my daddy awakardly laughed and said of course!! :).
JBK is my boyfriend!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!
Then on Sunday we went to church. :)
Then once again we forgot to take pics so we have self pics again!! Haha.
I don't know when I will be seeing JBK again because November is so crazy!!

Thursday Thoughts
Thursday is here!!! Yeah!!! Haha. I'm a little happy that it is almost the weekend. :)
1. I am so ready for Saturday to get here!! I can't wait to hear and see JBK. :) I haven't heard his voice since Monday and I hadnt heard from him until yesterday because he has been so busy. So he can come this weekend!
2. I have determined I have a diet coke addiction. I am on my 2nd 20 oz already and it is only 11 AM.
3. I saw Perks of Being a Wallflower on Monday. Omg. It was so great!! :)
4. It is almost the end of Oct. where did this month ago!? Like really!? Haha
5. I have finally cleaned my side of the room and it is finally coming together.
Still have to hang up 2 things.

What I Did This Weekend
So this weekend was one of the best weekends ever. :). :). :).
So on Friday I had a retreat I went to with Campus Ministries. It was great. I wish I had pictures but it was so much fun.
So on Sat. I had to leave early. Because I surprised this man at his school's homecoming. Haha.
Yes everyone that is JBK. Yes we only have these 2 pics. We will have more this weekend I promise. :)
I sent him a text saying I got lost. I was really at his frat's tailgate waiting on him. He texted back really!? After that text he was coming up to the tailgate. And I was standing right there. He was shocked to say the least. He came up to me and asked how long had i planned on doing this and I said 2 weeks. Haha.
So we just hung out the whole weekend. Watched football games. Cuddled. And talked etc. it was so much fun.
Then on Sunday I left. I didn't want to leave. But I had to study for a big test today. Yuck. :(. Last test before finals though. I need to do well. I hope I did.

So we just hung out the whole weekend. Watched football games. Cuddled. And talked etc. it was so much fun.
Then on Sunday I left. I didn't want to leave. But I had to study for a big test today. Yuck. :(. Last test before finals though. I need to do well. I hope I did.

What I Did This Weekend
This weekend was by far the most school related weekend to date.
Friday after classes finally got a much needed pedicure and manicure.
Guess who actually got color on her fingers!?? Me!! Haha. I'm usually just a French manicure and pedicure girl but I could not resist this fall color.
But I got French on my toes.
Saturday and Sunday was full of school work. Since I am going to be gone most of this coming weekend. I needed to study for my last European history test and finish editing my papers for YA and American Lit.
Sunday I went to church which was great and then out to eat at Panera. Yummy! :).
So I really had a productive weekend. :)

Thursday Thoughts
1. Me and JBK are doing great. :). We talked on the phone for over 2 hours the other night. We talked about everything. I have never talked to a guy or anyone in that matter for that long.
16 more days!!
2. Im staying at HC the next few weekends. :).
3. I also have figured out what me and JBK will be doing when he comes to visit me. ;).
4. When I went shopping for my bday I got some jeggings. I love them. Hahaha. And I look good. :).
5. I am getting happy again. Which is great. :).

Birthday Weekend!!
So let's start with Friday. I went home Friday thank goodness I had it off. I got to see MEC ride in the parade. My dad drove the car for the freshman attendants. And come to find out the car is my mom's new car!! Yeah!! :). I also got to stay for most of the pep rally. Then had to pick up food up for dinner. Friday night was the game my high school won! Yeah my sister walked out with my dad at half time but she was not freshman princess so it's ok.
Sat- My BIRTHDAY!!!! Well since MEC was having all her girls get ready at our house. My mom sent me out of the house and let me shop for my own birthday presents. If you know me in real life you know I'm not big on presents. However I did get one surprise gift from my parents which was a silver bracelet. :) so I gig to go shopping and have lunch at Cheesecake factory with my friend Amanda. I also got to update on her on JBK who called during lunch so she got to talk to him. :) then after I dropped her off I had 30 min to get ready to have dinner and see my sister off at homecoming dance.
Then at the end of the night I got the sweetest text from JBK.
No one would have thought that one this day 23 years ago that your mother would have given birth to such an amazing and special person and that I would have the great honor and privilege to talk and become so close to this person. I am so happy to say that I have gotten to know you and love so much about you that words are hard to describe sometimes the joy that I get from you. Happy Birthday Beautiful. You are such an amazing and special person that is finding a special place in my heart everyday I talk to you.
Everyone say awwwww.. :)
Well that was the bday weekend. Yes I skipped Sunday. Sunday was no bueno. Haha.

Thursday Thoughts
1. My bday is 2 days!! I can't believe I will be 23.
2. Homecoming at the good old high school tomorrow to support MEC!!
3. I'm getting my haircut today by one of my best friend's sisters!! I need it badly. My hair is so long right now!
4. Things on the boy front is great!! JBK is amazing. I love skypeing with him every night before I go to bed. I love making him laugh. I love when he makes me laugh and last night was no exception. I had the case of the major giggles last night. Haha.
5. After the debate last night I am so ready for this election to be over. People's statuses on Facebook got way out of hand.

1. My birthday!! 5 days! I will be 23!! Wow!! :).
2. My baby sister MEC's homecoming. And her bday. She will be 15 on the 29th. When did she get so big and can get her driving permit. No bueno.
3. My daddy's bday is also this month the 20th. I can't believe my daddy will be 55. He doesn't look like it all.
4. My date with JBK on 27th and 28th!!! I'm beyond happy about this one!! :) :) :)
5. I also love fall and everything that comes with it. Hats, scarfs, pumpkins, coffee, hot tea, etc. :) and hooded sweatshirts. ;)
6. Halloween meaning my favorite kid's movie, Hocus Pocus of course!! :)

So I've Got A Crush... ;)
So you know how the other day I told yall that I'm talking to a guy on match. Well this girl has a crush on him. Hehe. ;).
His name is JBK. He's pretty great not going to lie. He is so sweet, makes me giggle, etc.
Our first official first date is not until the end of October but we text whenever we can. And every night we Skype.
We have a lot of things in common which is great. :). We are both geeks. We both love Alabama football. We both love the mountains and stars.
And so much more. :)
So excited about this journey God is taking me on. I'm praying every night about it and it feels so great. :)
He reads this blog so hehe. ;).

Thursday Thoughts

1. Sorry for being MIA school is taking over my life right now I have so many books to read.
2. Color run was Monday!! It was awesome besides the fact the rained the WHOLE time!! Least it wasn't hot and humid. And I finished it in 58 min.
3. I am loving my Young Adult/children lit class!! Right now we are reading The Secret Garden. We have already read The Wizard of Oz and Ragged Dick. (last one = no bueno)
4. Big Rival football game HC vs BSC this weekend. Agh! My school vs. my dad and all his family went there including my daddy. My family is coming to the game since MEC high school is playing a close school to my college. Which is also LEA's school!
5. I am also asked to be a leader of some things on Campus Ministries. So happy!! :)
