Words can't describe all I went through that. Pictures can't do it either. However I going to do my best.
When I woke up I was so nervous. I woke up early because I had to meet my team/ people I work out with at 7:30. Nobody in my house awake.
So I went to Starbucks to get protien. I had a spinach feta wrap with egg whites. And had to indulge with a nonfat gingerbread latte. Since I was still not awake.
I rode with a few people I workout with on Sat. They are close to my age.
Once I got there I was so nervous. JBK was supposed to meet me there, but he didn't arrive until I was about to start so I didn't see him until I got done. My stomach was in knots.
It was 3.2 miles and 13 obstacles. It was also hilly and in the woods in some areas.
At first our group was going to stay together but that went out the window. I was nervous that no one was going to stay with me. I am the most overweight at the bunch that went.
However my friend Matt stayed back with me. He was the most encouraging about it. He was like let's run to this. You can do it.
And man those obstacles were hardcore. I did some of them. Some of them I didn't because my heights fear and my shoes didn't have good traction. (downside to my cheap shoes). So I cheared on Matt a lot.
My goal is do more next year and to do do more 5ks. I think I'm going to start in January. Then eventually do a 10k first then eventually a half then maybe a full. Eeek. Never thought I would be saying that or writing.
Here's a few pics. :).
Me and Matt
JBK has a few more on his phone so I should be uploading some more later.
So awesome! Good job sticking it out!
ReplyDeleteSo proud of you! Next time you see Matt, you should high-5 him from me. I love that he stayed back with you to help you get through it all! :)
ReplyDeleteGirl I don't know why you'd want to delete this post... you should be so dang proud of yourself! Great job!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome job!! I've done 5Ks but never something like a Warrior Dash. That looks challenging! Way to go :)
ReplyDeleteI really want to do a mud/obstacle run! Hopefully next year! Congratulations on your amazing run!
ReplyDeleteYOU ARE AMAZEBALLS! So completely proud of you and glad that Matt stayed back with you. What a testament to his character to be there for you, I'm sure you would have done great by yourself but knowing someone is there that has your back just makes it that much easier.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear about your 5k, 10k, half AND full adventures - you're doing amazing things!
