Getting to Know Y'all. :)

So I am part of the Alabama Women's Bloggers. It has been live for almost 2 months. This community is so great. It is a getting to know the rest of your sisters link up. :) So here we go...

1. What part of the state do you call home?

Well right now I'm being a lovely to 2 great kids in our fair capital. :) Then I will be back home in Shelby County looking for a job come fall.

2. How long have you been blogging?

On and off for 2 years. I really started this time last year. :).

3. Why did you start blogging?

Well my fellow Alabama sister  from Finding Free told me I should. Haha. So I did. She has done all my layouts.

Then last year after a really bad breakup I just needed an outlet. :) Then I was hooked just to writing about my everyday life.

4. What is your favorite part of being a member of the Alabama Women Bloggers community?

Definitely the community. I have met some these girls and they are so supportive. I don't have a lot of girlfriends so that has been great to have.

5. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Hopefully married to JBK, a librarian, at my goal weight, maybe pregnant with our first kid, and still blogging. :)

6. If you could choose an actress to play you in your life, who would you choose and why?

I really don't know. Haha. Probably me. J/k.

Maybe Lilly Collins. She's really beautiful and to top it off she is Phil Collins' daughter.

7. Name 5 things on your Bucket List that you hope you’ll check off before you die?

Be a mom, go to Africa on a mission trip, get to my goal weight, go to each Presidential library( there's my geek post), and meet my out of state blog friends.

8. If you could be known for one thing, what would it be and why?

That I was caring, great friend who cared about her friends. And that I lived my life worthy of the Gospel.

9. Describe the best moment in your life!?

There's a few. I can't decide between them.

9 months ago when I skyped JBK for the first time. That day when I saw his face and finally talked to him I knew something was changing in my life.

8 months ago when he asked my dad permission to date me. :)

When I graduated college May 4th. I never thought I would make it to 23. When I was younger. Which it is quite sad, but I am so glad I am here.

10. If you could “be” anything (no consequences, no fear), what would you “be”?

I would be a Presidential Historian. I love my presidents. I love reading about them. I love finding out new information about them.

11. What or who inspires you to blog?

My love life, my weight loss journey, and my friends, and my family  inspire me so much to blog.

12. We’re headed to your neck of the woods… what restaurant would you recommend?

If you are in Montgomery I would La Zona which is a Mexican restaurant. Or Tomatinos or Cafe Lousia. :) or Mr. Gs. :)

If I am home I would say Ashley Macs. Or Edgar's bakery.

13. What’s a southern tradition you and your family have?

Thank you notes. Southern hospitality.

14. If you could pick your favorite blog post from your blog this year, what would it be?

That's a hard one. There is two I really like these two.

Scars

Just to warn you. This post has been very emotional to write.  I have been writing and deleting it since Thursday. So here we go.

So all of you know I struggle with my weight. I have been for almost 11 years.

I have tried everything. I am the poster child for yo-yo dieting. I have written posts about my weight loss journey. However since April I have been slacking. I have put it off.

However on Wednesday my eyes were finally open and I am finally going on this journey for myself.

The wake up call was when I looked in the mirror after my shower. I never truly look in the mirror after a shower. However I did that morning. I truly believed God poked me that morning to look.

So I looked I was embarrassed what I saw. I saw a person I didn't recognize anymore. I saw a person who wasn't happy about herself. I saw a person who didn't think she would ever get this big. I saw my stretch marks aka scars caused by emotional eating.  I saw a person who is now fed up about this way.

So starting on Monday  my journey starts. I'm ordering my Body Bugg. I am going to start making my food instead of buying frozen. So getting some healthy cookbooks from the used bookstore or from the bookstore. Making a list on Sundays for groceries. And so much more.

I want to write so much are about this, but I will just post more about it later. :)

Love y'all.

Hello Again...

In case if you haven't noticed I took another blogging break. To put it kindly I don't know why I haven't.  I am not a numbers blogger. Sorry if you are. I am not bad mouthing anyone.

I don't care how many followers and how many views you get. Or how many comments I get. Sometimes I get no comments at all.

My blog is about me. My ups and downs. It has been here as an outlet for when my ex broke up with me. It has been here when I talked about online dating and finding the man for me. It has been about my weight struggles, my friend struggles, and everything in between.

So if that is not your cup of tea then you will just have kiss my southern grits. ;)

I love each and everyone who comments or follows this lovely space.

So I am back people!! :). And get ready for some posts. :).

Again I love y'all!! :). Talk to y'all soon!! :)

Dear 18 Year Old Kaitlyn,

You graduated from high school tonight. Can you believe it!? High school was rough on you I know.

You had to find out what true friendships were. You cried over boys not liking you back.

You were so depressed those 10th and 11th grade years. At first you didn't even want to live because it was so bad.

I'm here to tell you survive all of it.

You just now graduated from college sure it took 5 instead of 4 years.

You made some amazing friends and kept some amazing friendships who love for you are from high school.

You have an amazing boyfriend of almost 7 months. He loves you for you.

And You know want to live now!! You have too much to live for and so much much to live for.

You are finally getting that self esteem back you had back when you were 13/14.

You are so beautiful and I can't wait to see what in store for your life.

Just think in 5 years you will be at your high school reunion. You will show all those people who called you ugly, worthless, etc how beautiful and worthy you are. :)

Again I am so proud of you!! :)

Love,

23 Year Old Kaitlyn

What's Next!?

As I lay here in bed a flood of emotions are coming at me however this one stands out!?

What's Next!?

One of my beloved professors asked me that exact question after he saw at graduation.

I gave him the typical answer. Semester off then graduate school. In actuality I do not know what is in store only God knows.

This summer is filled with babysitting, 2 weddings for one friend who have known for a long time and the other my freshman year roommate, and who knows maybe more.

This fall God only knows where I am going and what I am doing. And to be honest I'm scared. Even though I know he has some great plans. Just look this verse thg is always memorized.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11

But we don't always look at the verses after it. They speak truth.

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29: 12 and 13

So really these 2 verses are my verses for summer. I want to seek God and find my true calling what he wants not my calling on my life that I want.

Pray for me as I go along this journey.

Well I will talk to y'all soon. JBK graduates this weekend from graduate school!! So now he will be Master JBK!! Hahahaah

Also this Sunday is Mother's Day. Hug your mom, grandma, special woman, in your life Or whoever is your "mom" in your life.

Also please pray for the women out there who would be mommys this year that aren't. I have a few personal friends that have lost a baby, babies, etc this past year. I will be lifting you all up this weekend. I wish I could give y'all hugs!!

Love,

Kaitlyn

Graduation Recap

Hey first off I want to apologize for not posting in awhile. It has been crazy busy and I have been praying about this blog space. And my computer has been acting really slow. I can't upload the pics from graduation. I can however give you pics from my phone which I am typing from.

So here's a quick recap.

Friday morning was graduation practice where we found out our graduation would be inside. Boo. It has only happened 3 times. The last time being 2003.

Then we had a yummy brunch from Alumni office.

Then I had to meet the mom of the kids I'm watching this summer. I am so thankful God is allowing me to stay in Montgomery to make money for graduate school whenever that maybe.

Then met my family minus SEC ( who was moving out the little bit she had left in AU)plus JBK at the hotel.

We then had the Baccalaureate. It was great service. Even the president of school called out Giles in his sermon.
( Giles is the Van Wilder of my school)

Everyone that graduated even stood up when he got his diploma and some of the faculty as well.

Me and the family and now SEC went out for Mexican food. :)

Saturday was graduation it was pure crazy because of the rain.

I got to see a few people so that was great!!

Also the person who got his diploma before me has an amazing last name.
His name is Rhett Butler. :) He is a friend and amazing guy at that.

Then me and my family and a ton of friends and family went to Mr. Gs. It is my favorite Greek and Italian restaurant. :)

Then my parents drove my sister SEC to Atlanta to catch a plane to Chile. Where she was one of 6 students chosen to study Industrial Engineering over there!! My sister is a smarty pants!! :)

Then me, JBK, and MEC drove home.
MEC went to the soccer game while me and my boy stayed and ate pizza and watched Gangster Squad. Very bad effects but overall a good movie.

Picture time!!

Me and TG. She was my small group leader for 2 years. I don't know where I would be without her.

Then obviously me and JBK. And look Sar he is smiling with teeth!! Hahaha. Love you babe.

Oh and my man spoiled me for graduation and for our 6 month. A beautiful necklace and earrings. :)
